Fitness levels

At York School of Jewellery we grade all our courses according to the physical demands of the day(s) experience. If you have any specific personal requirements please contact us prior to booking.

Fitness level 1.
               Basic general level of fitness. 
               Able to sit/stand for reasonable periods of time.
               General ability to grip, able to hold pens, cutlery and cooking
               utensils without difficulty.
               **Able to focus clearly at 30cm/12” approximately (with or without
               spectacles.).

 

Fitness level 2
All level 1 above plus
**Able to focus clearly at 15cm/6” approximately (with or without
spectacles/magnifying aid.).

 

Fitness level 3
All level 1 above plus
Able to use medium weight hammers or similar for protracted
periods of time, equivalent to gardening for a day.

 

Fitness level 4
All level 1 above plus
Ability to use heavy weight hammers or similar for protracted periods
of time, equivalent to very physically demanding gardening.
Note; level 4 courses are physically demanding but you will be able
to take regular breaks and be taught relief exercises.
Expect to be tired (but very happy) by the end of the course!
