Technical levels

 

Technical level 1.
This level assumes little or no previous experience of the course
subject you wish to study with us.
You will have great fun learning the basics from experts
in all subjects and be taught practical skills to enable you to
develop.  Please note course types are not interchangeable.
For example, even if you are a proficient jeweller it is
unlikely you will automatically be a proficient silversmith.

Technical level 2
This level is all about building on your knowledge base and ability!
You will have already undertaken a course at an Introductory
level in your chosen subject and this is your chance to review and
correct your techniques and significantly develop them.  
Why not mix and match?  If you have tried jewellery making why not
have a go at silversmithing?

Technical level 3
At this level you will be basically proficient in your chosen discipline (jewellery making or silversmithing). Put simply, if you were at school we would regard this level as an 'o' level or equivalent. At this level you will be developing your skills significantly! Please be aware that we are not able at this level to recap and build on lower level skills.

Technical level 4
We regard technical level 4 as the equivalent of an 'A' level. Students at this level will be proficient and capable of undertaking a range of tasks without assistance and with considerable competence. This group of courses are technically challenging and designed to stretch the student (whilst still keeping you smiling). Please be aware that we are not able at this level to recap and build on lower level skills.

Technical level 5
At this level students will be assumed to be highly proficient in their chosen discipline (jewellery making or silversmithing). They will be ready and able to take their skills to a very significantly higher level. This group of courses are technically very challenging but still most enjoyable. Please be aware that we are not able at this level to recap and build on lower level skills.
